THREE RDAA clubs held matches last Sunday with just one on the River Kennet and two on Lake venues, wriyes Alan Hughes.

Tilehurst Royal British Legion were on the Beat 3B Fobney Island section of the Kennet.

Conditions were ideal with cloud coverage, good flow and slight colour in the river.

However, things proved differently with Andy Chapman taking the honours with 2lbs 3ozs of silver fish.

Simon Couling took the runner-up spot with 1lb 10ozs also of silvers, although he did manage to lose four barbel.

Completing the top trio was Steve O’Keefe with silver fish which totalled1lb 8ozs.

Ten anglers turned out for Bracknell Avocets' second match of the season, hoping the carp and tench would show at Brown Lee Pool.

For those on the western end they did put in an appearance producing the top four weights.

Congratulations went to Robin Reynolds on continuing his winning streak with 7lbs.

Kevin Strange took the runner-up spot with 6lbs 7ozs and in third place was Rod Needs with 4lbs 13ozs. The total weight on the day was 34lbs 7ozs.

Reading Fishing Club held their match on the Longwater Lake in Green Park, Reading.

Top spot went to Richard Rosinski who netted one bream and two tench plus some silvers to take 21lbs 4ozs to the scales.

George Callaghan claimed second place with two tench plus some bits to weigh in 11lbs 3ozs. Third place went to John Ambrose with 7lbs 6ozs of silvers.
