SHINFIELD's Premier Division title hopes took a severe dent as they lost for the first time this season in a four-wicket reverse at Welford Park, writes Richard Ashton.

Anuraag Shukla top scored with 47 as Shinfield were bowled out for 200, Will Herrington taking 3-45 with his off spin.

Herrington (57 from 34 balls) and Jacob McManus (43) put on 90 for the opening wicket, and despite losing wickets thereafter, Welford were able to reach 203-6 in 34 overs.

Jay Deshmukh was the pick of the Shinfield attack, taking 3-38.

Loan player Rehan Akram proved Woodcote's match-winner as they edged out Crowthorne & Crown Wood by 36 runs in a low-scoring thriller.

Jeff Cluett (3-23) and Sinith Chandran (3-28) combined to put the Crows on top as they bowled Woodcote out for 120, but Akram's 6-18 then dismantled the visitors for just 84.

Ankit Singh made 46 and Dave Drury took 3-33 as Ibis Mapledurham (194-6) had the better of their draw at home to Woodley (186-9).

George Williams made a stunning unbeaten 133 as Mortimer West End claimed a winning draw at Stratfield Turgis.

Chris Butcher took 3-37 as the visitors made 242-8, and despite following that with 50, Stratfield could only reach 194-8 in reply.

Leaders BCS collected 35 points after Goring conceded their game.

Division One leaders Sandhurst eased to a five-wicket success at struggling West Reading 2nds.

Lachlan Birse took 4-21 as Wests were bowled out for 124, and the Camels reached 127-5 in 24.3 overs in reply.

Skipper Razavullah Shaik made an unbeaten 58 to help Twyford & Ruscombe (195-5) to a five-wicket win against second-placed Peppard Stoke Row 2nds (191-9).

Upendra Deshpande took 4-14 and Suneet Basra made 51 not out to lead Woodley 2nds (131-2) to a comprehensive eight-wicket success against Warfield (128).

Dylan Wood's 4-30 helped Shinfield 2nds (132-3) ease past Farley Hill (128) by seven wickets, while basement side Waltham St Lawrence conceded their game at Crowthorne & Crown Wood 2nds.

Division Two leaders West Reading 2nds cruised past Knowl Hill by eight wickets.

Alex FRancis made 91 of the Hill's 160, but Akeel Khan smashed an unbeaten 98 to fire West to 166-2 in just 24.3 overs.

Gary Shacklady took 5-12 and Rob Casey made 69 as second-placed Earley (100-1) thrashed Sulhamstead 3rds (99) by nine wickets.

Kunal Mendiratta's 4-28 proved key in helping Checkendon 2nds win their derby at Peppard Stoke Row 3rds by seven wickets.

Chris Proudfoot's 59 not out helped PSR reach 180-7, but Prashant Khare smashed an unbeaten 104 to inspire Checks to 184-3 in reply, reaching their target with more than 16 overs to spare.

Reading Lions toppled Wokingham 6ths by four wickets in a high-scoring affair.

Chinmay Kulkarni made 88 of the Oaks' 254, Ankush Jain taking 4-34, but the Lions reached 255-6 on the back of fine knocks from Babu Longanathan (71) and the prolific Shiva Aruna (61).

There was a rare tie as Mortimer West End 2nds and Welford Park 2nds both were bowled out for 170.

Ian Bliss took 6-15 as Mortimer eased to a seven-wicket home victory over Falkland Development to stay top of Division Three.

It took the leaders fewer than 21 overs to bowl out the visitors for 48, with Stuart Fielding hitting 27 of those runs and Craig North (3-22) providing back-up to Bliss.

Falkland's youngsters did take three wickets including two for Nikhil Kopparapu, but Ryan May (14no) saw Mortimer home in the 16th over of their reply.

Jamie Galpin's 5-14 inspired second-placed Sandhurst 2nds (160-9) to a 49-run victory against Stratfield Turgis 2nds (111).

Steve Andrews took 4-26, but Binfield 4ths (130) lost to Earley 2nds (144) by 14 runs. Venu Pasikanti grabbed 4-33 for the victors.

Crowthorne & Crown Wood 3rds (107-9) hung on for a draw despite Shinfield 3rds' (136) bowler Agasthya Kumar taking 4-18.

Abdul Hafeez snared 5-42 for West Reading 4ths (170), but they went down by 20 runs at home to Purley on Thames 3rds (190). Matt Hearn claimed 4-17 for the Potters.
