Reading fans will be joyous at the prospect of fewer miles to travel to follow the team for the coming 2019/20 campaign.
Last season supporters travelled a staggering 7,109 miles to back the boys, and thankfully that figure is significantly less this season.
With the loss of both Anglian sides, and the addition of some much-needed southern teams, the Royals will only strike up 6,494 miles this coming season.
The longest trip remains Middlesbrough; with the Riverside stadium a 532-mile round trip.
Other trips which pass the 400-mile mark are: Wigan Athletic; Preston North End; Leeds United; Hull City; Huddersfield Town and Blackburn Rovers.
Meanwhile, the closest trips remain those in the capital: Millwall; QPR; Brentford; Fulham and Charlton Athletic are all less than 100-mile round trips.
The welcomed addition of Luton Town and Cardiff City also help significantly reduce the travel time for Royal fans, something which can only be a bonus to the long-suffering supporters.
This figure is still 794 miles longer than that of the 2016/17 season, in which the fans travelled 5,700 miles on route to the playoff final, and still eight miles longer than 2017/18.
