TWO local boxing clubs enjoyed success with their fighters winning gold at the England Boxing National Schools Championships.
Crowthorne-based Pinewood were the most successful club in the country at the event – sealing a remarkable eight gold medals.
Francie Doherty claimed the Class A under 40kg crown, Chase Loveridge the Class B equivalent and Jade Jenkins took the Cadet under 30kg title on a split decision.
John Valler won the Cadet under 42kg – again by split decision – while Michael Smith was victorious by unanimous decision in the Class A under 41.5kg category.
Mason Butcher triumphed in the Cadet under 44kg category on a split decision, while all the judges marked their cards in favour of Joe Cooper in the Class A under 48kg competition.
The final gold medal went to RJ Draper, who beat Joe Hodgkinson via split decision in the Class B under 68kg event.
Meanwhile, Bracknell-based The Ring Boxing Club enjoyed success as Mohammad Safar, 11, gained a unanimous decision against West Ham's William Ball in the Cadet under 32kg competition.
His 12-year-old club mate Zayan Sadiq took the bronze medal in the Class A 35.5-37kg group.
