ODDS-ON favourite Calyx (1/3) claimed the group Three Merriebelle Stable Commonwealth Cup Trial Stakes at Ascot last Wednesday.
Frankie Dettori eased the three-year-old clear four lengths ahead of 33/1 shot No Nonsence.
The Clive Cox-trained Konchek (14/1) was a further half-length back in third.
Another favourite, Dee Ex Bee (11/8) won the previous race, the Group Three Longines Sagaro Stakes.
The Mark Johnston-trained horse was three-and-a-quarter lengths clear of Raymond Tusk (20/1), with 11/1 shot Cleonte taking third.
The opening Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Royal Ascot Two-Year-Old Trial Conditions Stakes went to 20/1 shot Ventura Rebel, with Muchly (9/1), Zaaki (9/1), Burford Brown (10/1) and Enigmatic (14/1) also ending up in the winners' enclosure.
