BINFIELD FC recovered from the setback of conceding a fifth-minute goal to triumph 2-1 away to Fairford Town.

Eddie Lee equalised in the 28th minute with Gary Smith bagging the winner just after the hour mark.

"After a slow start, we played well and should have won by three or four goals," said manager Roger Herridge.

With regular keeper David Lyons unavailable and Sonny Wheeler playing for the club's development side, Herridge gave a debut to Lee Wyatt, only to lose him through injury 25 minutes from time.

Defender Liam Gavin took over between the posts and made a great save at the feet of an opposing forward, enabling the Moles to gain three well-deserved points.

Binfield, for whom Josh Howell was outstanding, remain eighth in the Premier Division standings ahead of their trip to fourth-bottom Tuffley Rovers this coming Saturday.
