MANAGER Roger Herridge praised his Binfield side following their second 1-1 home draw in a week, the latest being against Lydney Town last Saturday.

The Moles hit a low spot when crashing 4-0 at struggling Abingdon United earlier this month, but Herridge admits he is proud of the way his players have reacted since that defeat.

"It takes character to keep believing in yourself when things aren't going well and a lot of hard work too," he said.

"It's easy to throw in the towel and walk away, but the group of players I have are proving they are better than that.

"Obviously it was a game we wanted to win, but we gave a good performance against a decent (Lydney) side and I am confident we are going in the right direction."

Ian Davies put the Moles ahead after eight minutes, only for Lydney to equalise through Tom Baldwin.

The Moles gave a debut to new goalkeeper David Lyons, whose previous clubs include Didcot Town, Flackwell Heath, Ascot and Thame.

l WOKINGHAM & Emmbrook had a fine 1-0 win at Milton United to move up to sixth place in Division One East.

Their only goal came from a Jake White penalty in the second half after Josh Harris had been brought down in a run which took him past two opponents.

The Sumas could have won more comfortably, as Connor Holland saw his header come back off the inside of the post, George Marsh had an effort scrambled off the line and Ellis Day was also denied by a defender after rounding the keeper.

Milton battled hard, but the Wokingham defence stood solid as they kept their second clean sheet in succession.

Dan Bateman's men visit Thames Valley Premier League side Burghfield in the Reading Senior Cup this Saturday (1.30pm), and next Tuesday (7.45pm) face a tough tie at Flackwell Heath in the Perpetua Press Floodlit Cup.

l SANDHURST Town enjoyed an outstanding 2-1 victory over Bedfont & Feltham, who came to Bottom Meadow top of the Combined Counties League Division |One.

The mid-table Fizzers inflicted the leaders' second defeat in 22 games with a spirited performance which saw them lift themselves up after falling behind to a seventh-minute goal with left-back Billy Nutbeam finding the net from outside the area with a shot which looped over keeper Matt Watson.

They equalised through Paul Rake on 70 minutes and five minutes later Callum Samuel-Harman notched the winner after good work from Paddy Gardener.

The three points will put Sandhurst on a high ahead of this coming Saturday's home encounter with British Airways and next Tuesday (7.45pm) they host Knaphill in the Aldershot Senior Cup.

Eversley & California went down 4-2 away to British Airways at Bedfont last weekend, their goals coming from skipper Brad Brown and Ryan White.
