ARSENAL goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez has announced his potential loan move to Reading FC on social media.

The 26-year-old was videoed driving his car on a road that resembled the M4 near Reading during yesterday’s snowy conditions.

The next clip is a panoramic video of the Madejski Stadium in the dark along with the words: ‘New House.’

The video was posted by sports management agency TwentyTwo/22 on Instagram last night.

Reading manager Jose Gomes had been linked with Manchester United keeper Joel Pereira, 22, earlier in the transfer window.

But it now appears Martinez is his number one target, with Royals keeper Vito Mannone looking increasingly likely to leave before the end of the month.

It is thought Martinez asked Arsenal boss Unai Emery for permission to leave this window in order to gain regular football.

The Argentine is third-choice with the Gunners behind Petr Cech and Brend Leno, has made only six league appearances for the North Londonders and has been loaned to Oxford United, Sheffield Wednesday, Rotherham United, Wolves and Getafe in the past.

However, it is believed he remains part of the Premier League club’s long-term plans and they are unlikely to agree to a long-term deal.

Martinez, who joined Arsenal from Independiente in 2010, would face competition from current number one, Anssi Jaakkola, and back-up Sam Walker at Madejski Stadium.

Gomes completed his third loan signing of January last night with the capture of Norwich City striker, Nelson Oliveria.
