EMMER Green advanced to the quarter-finals of the Berks & Bucks Intermediate Cup with a 2-1 victory at Eldon Celtic, writes Richard Ashton.

The visitors took the lead following a lively start to the game when Ashley Searle headed home Jake Smith's corner, only for Celtic to equalise 15 minutes later to ensure the sides went in level at the break.

Emmer Green improved after the break and despite wasting a number of chances, they secured victory 15 minutes from time when Ryan Adams volleyed home a Jordan Lovelock pass.

Eldon rallied and could have snatched an equaliser, but some impressive defending from John Donegan and a couple of good saves from Phil Brown ensured Green reached the last four.

The Sportsman moved six points clear at the top of the Senior Division following their 3-0 home win against AFC Burghfield, while a Sid Gbla brace helped Tilehurst Club leapfrog Woodley Wanderers and Youth into third following their 2-0 win.

Purley beat Southcote Colts 2-0.

In the Premier Division, table-toppers Richfield Rovers overcame Tilehurst YM thanks to a Craig Haylett double and a goal from Jamie Connor, Joseph Haskell with the consolation.

Goals from Stuart Owen and Ollie Chambers were not enough for Caversham AFC as they went down 4-2 at AFC Bradfield, while Woodley Wanderers and Youth Reserves won 2-0 at WS Hobnob and Pangbourne Barbarians eased past 116 Exiles 3-0.

Twyford Comets are the new leaders of Division One after they sneaked past Maiden Place 3-2 in their top-of-the-table clash. An own goal and strikes from Simon Meekings and Sam Wild did the job for the home side, George Hepburn and Mikey Jones replaying for Maiden Place.

A brilliant hat-trick from Ganesh Lama and Sergiu Popescu's brace helped Aydin FC stun Henley Town 5-2, the visitors' goals coming from Charlie York and Nico Cheeseman.

An Ollie Jones double and a goal from Jacob Flanagan earned Woodley United a share of the spoils in their 3-3 draw at SC United, while Woolhampton CFC gained revenge for their Industrial Cup quarter-final defeat to Loxwood seven days earlier by grabbing a 2-1 home win.

A Ben Keepax penalty put the hosts 1-0 up on the half-hour mark, with Matt Rosier doubling the advantage early in the second period.

Steve Barter pulled a goal back for Loxwood, but missed chances cost Loxwood as they failed to equalise.

Goals from Matt Holloway, Adam Wiltshire and Peter Twyford gave Division Two leaders Englefield Eagles Reds a hard-fought 3-2 success at Park Villa, while Barton Rovers overcame Arborfield 4-2 and Wokingham & Emmbrook knocked off Brimpton Rangers 3-0.

A James Tarrant brace and a trike from replacement Harvey Beales were not enough for Southbank in their 5-3 reverse at Delta Vigo, while Southcote Colts Reserves won 4-2 at Whitley Athletic thanks to a Jake Collins double and goals from Marcus Guest and Jordan Rowland.

Deeroi Whyte, Jason Haste and Kieran Chard netted for new Division Three table-toppers AFC Lowfield Green in their 3-1 triumph at second-placed Rose & Thistle, Toninho Skeete with the consolation.

Matt Bates, Jake Rapley, Callum Jay, James Robinson and Ben Dawson were all on the scoresheet as Kings United blitzed 116 Exiles Reserves 5-0, and Shinfield Park United battered Mortimer 6-0.

In Division Four, table-topping Sanctuary Strikers suffered a shock 3-1 home defeat to Borussia Teeth, Matt Lee, Tony Smillie and substitute Thomas Day doing the damage for the mid-table away side.

Second-placed Calcot Royals are now just three points off top after winning 3-0 at Earley Elite, Jordan Fox, Robbie Jeffrey and Josef Matthews with the goals.

Kieran Smith scored twice and Carl Allen, Jake Brown and Daniel Ward were also on target as Burghfield FC brushed aside Calcot FC 5-1.

Ovidiu Buzatu came off the bench to bag a brace in New England's 3-0 success at Tilehurst Titans, Daniel Newberry with the other.

Paul Gutteridge and Joe Hales were among the goalscorers as Caversham United won 3-1 at Wayback Wanderers.
