THREE Mile Cross took local bragging rights with their 122-100 victory against Maiden Erlegh in a game played at Whiteknights.

Top rink for Three Mile Cross was Andy Friend, Mike Fry, Lesley Darbourn and David Pearce, the quartet winning 25-8.

The match that was sponsored by Malcolm Head of The Head Partnership, who is a sponsor at all three clubs, and he presented all the players with a bottle of wine after the game.

Whiteknights club manager Andy Knapper said it was 'a fantastic game'.

l WHITEKNIGHTS were edged out 112-104 by the visiting Isle Of Wight in a closely-contested mixed friendly.

Top Rink for the Knights was skipped by Jim Bland with Alan Cowell, David Parker and Joy Holmes. They finished plus 29 shots.

In the London Southern Counties Shield – a four-rink competition –Whiteknights advanced past Buckinghamshire side Foxhill 70-63.

Both clubs had two winning rinks, with the best performers for Whiteknights being skip Duncan Christie with Clive Tarran, Terry Gilmour and Mike Fraser. They were plus 14 shots.

In the next round Whiteknights play either Watford or Hounslow on January 26.

'Knights reached the last 16 of the Leonard Denny Cup – a two-rink competition – by winning both against Loddon Vale.

They will travel to Oxford & City or West Berks as they aim to secure a quarter-final spot.

There was disappointment for Whiteknights in the last 16 of the national Denny Cup, however, as they were edged out 73-67 by the Swale Club from Kent.
