JOSE Gomes will be revealed as the new Reading FC manager within the next 24 hours.

Royals are yet to make an official announcement to confirm the 48-year-old’s appointment as Paul Clement’s successor.

But it is thought the final details on a reported 11m euro salary package have now been agreed on top of a 1m euro compensation agreement with his Portuguese club, Rio Ave.

It is rumoured Gomes could be in the directors’ box for today’s home clash with Middlesbrough, which will see caretaker Scott Marshall put in charge for the third successive match.

As a result Gomes’ first game as Royals boss is likely to be the away game at Millwall on Boxing Day.
