THE Berks & Bucks FA Under-18 representative squad got their South & West Counties Championship season under way with an emphatic 4-0 win against Devon on Sunday.

After a close start to the match at Arbour Park in Slough, a goal from James Richardson of Ascot United gave Berks & Bucks the lead on 15 minutes.

Central defender Lewis Pegg, from Maidenhead United, further extended the advantage in the 34th minute with a good finish after a scramble from a corner.

Devon continued to push in the final minutes of the first-half, but the Berks & Bucks side held firm to take a two-goal lead into the break.

The hosts were quick out of the traps for the second-half and soon took control of the game, emphasised by the tireless and excellent Eddie Lee of Binfield striking on 55 minutes.

Devon then struggled to get back into the game and it became dominated by Berks & Bucks.

The match was effectively over as a contest when man-of-the-match Brad Farren struck a beautiful effort from outside the box to make it 4-0.

Overall, it was an excellent performance from Berks & Bucks and a great way to kick-off the new league campaign.

The representative side next take on Cumberland in the FA County Youth Cup, looking to go one better in the competition than last season when they were knocked out in the semi-finals.
