DAN Lincoln has been elected as Finchampstead's 1st XI captain and he could be facing familiar faces when the 2019 season starts in the Home Counties Premier League.

Their opening fixture on May 11 is at home to Datchet, who last summer secured promotion to Division One with a number of his Berkshire teammates, including skipper James Morris, professional Chris Peploe, Ollie Birts and Joe Thomas, as well as the county's head coach Tom Lambert.

Finch's first away game is against Buckingham Town, the other side who came up from Division Two after finishing as champions, 46 points ahead of Datchet.

Their second home match will be versus High Wycombe on May 25 and that will see a return of former captain Dan Marles, who has been mooted as the next skipper of the Warriors.

Finch's eagerly-awaited clashes with champions Henley, another side packed with Berkshire players, are on June 8 at home and August 10 away.

Wokingham, who finished third in Division Two last summer, will get their new season underway on May 11 with a home encounter against Cookham Dean, this year's Thames Valley League champions.

A week later the Oaks travel to Oxford Downs and they have another trip to relegated Thame Town before hosting Chesham on June 1.

In addition to Lincoln, all of last season's Finchampstead captains remain unchanged.

Gary Loveday, who is also the club's chairman, will skipper the 2nd XI, Ian Rose the 3rds, Chris Ward the 4ths and Dave Marles the 5ths.

Finch also have a new secretary with the appointment of former HCPL umpire John Reed, while Sheila Porter becomes the fixtures secretary, taking over the duties from the late Mike Arnold.
