Golf: Mark Turner triumphs at East Berks
THIS year's East Berks GC competition winners qualified for the Garnett Putter event.
Mark Turner (13hcp) claimed the honours with a nett 66 on the par-69 course to win by two shots from Josh Edmundson (6hcp), with Adrian Thumwood (17hcp) third on countback with a nett 69.
The men’s senior section completed their season by playing for the Seniors Autumn Cup.
The winner was Paul Brooks (22hcp), who returned 39 points. One point behind was Peter Hutterli (19hcp) with Dave Turner (11hcp) third with 37 points.
East Berks ladies contested the 1923 Cup and victory went to Amanda Bancroft (21hcp), returning a nett 70 to win by one shot from Carol Leith (12hcp), with Laura Webb (+1hcp) third with a nett 72.
