FOUR Washindi youngsters have booked their places at the League Finals in Sheffield next month.

Harry Slatter in the 9-10 male League 3 group and Emily Sherratt (19+ League 3 ladies) qualified after excellent performances in the final qualifying competition in South Shields, while Lauren Nield (13-14 League 2) finished fifth after completing her voluntary routine to the highest standard so far to also reach Sheffield.

Lydia Osborn (League 2 19+ ladies) missed out, but placed 17th as she performed her best set of the season.

The fourth Washindi competitor to qualify for the finals is Kofi Elhagaggi (11-12 male).

Slatter showed he is in good form ahead of the finals by sealing seventh spot in the Englaish Silver competition last weekend, while Elhaggagi matched his efforts.

The pair were both placed eighth after completing a superb set and voluntary routine, though moved up a position after excelling in the challenge and jumped final routines with seasonal-best displays.

Eliane Rushby, from Crowthorne-based Washindi, praised the pair, stating: “This is a superb result from two young men who have worked really hard this season.”
