BERKS County Reserves crashed out of the Berks & Bucks Intermediate Cup at the second-round stage after they were beaten 2-1 at home by Woodley United Royals, writes Richard Ashton.

There was more success for Finchampstead, though, who turned on the style with a 7-0 drubbing of hosts Frontline.

Sean Hanley opened the scoring with a 32nd-minute strike and James Payne doubled the advantage before the interval.

An own goal and strikes from Daniel Townson and substitute Tom Lumley gave Hurst a 3-1 success at AFC Crowthorne, but Marlow United Reserves crashed out 2-1 at home to Chalfont Wasps.

AFC Corinthians knocked out Faringdon Town Reserves 6-4, while Phoenix Old Boys advanced with a 4-1 penalty shoot-out victory at Richings Park Reserves after the two sides had shared the spoils 4-4.

A Nile O’Meally-Newell strike and a second-half double from Chris Hurst helped Marlow United ease past neighbours Cookham Dean 3-0 in the Senior Trophy.

Woodcote Stoke Row Reserves suffered spot-kick heartbreak as they were eliminated from the Oxfordshire Intermediate Cup following a 4-1 penalty shoot-out defeat at Wallingford Town Reserves, the two sides sharing the spoils 3-3 at the end of both normal and extra time.

The impressive Josh Millar bagged a brace for the away side, with Matt Turnbull also on target.

Rotherfield United knocked Henley Town out with a 3-2 home triumph.

In the Berkshire Trophy Centre Senior Cup, Newbury cruised past an under-par Woodcote Stoke Row 5-2, while Goring United progressed in the Intermediate Cup with a dramatic 7-3 victory at Twyford & Ruscombe.

Jack Ploszynski and Ben Fuller put the visitors 2-0 up before a quick-fire Nathan Manser double levelled matters before the break.

Rhys York gave Twyford a 3-2 lead midway through the second half, but Goring rallied tremendously, Fuller levelling before a stunning Josh Monk hat-trick effectively sealed victory.

Sam Jordan also bagged a brace and Jordan Sawyer, replacement Andrew Johnstone-Archer and an own goal completed the rout, Darryl Wearn with the consolation for Maidenhead.

Wargrave drew 3-3 at home to Hurst Reserves.

A fabulous Jonny Openshaw hat-trick fired Hambleden to the top of Division Three on the back of a 6-0 cruise at Goring United Reserves, the other goals coming from Nick Ellis, Rhydian Grange and Sandor Varga.

Luke Molloy scored for Taplow United A in their 2-0 home win against Pangbourne, while the game between Woodley United A and Cintra Park Rovers was abandoned.

Division Four leaders Datchet Village extended their perfect start to four matches with a convincing 5-1 home win against Taplow United Reserves.

James Stoke grabbed a double and Aaron Hedgecox, Harry Jones and Jake Tomsett were among the other goalscorers as Harchester Hawks Development eased to a 6-2 victory at home to Phoenix Old Boys Reserves, while Westwood United Development edged out Farnham Royal Mavericks 1-0.

Berks County Rovers crushed Henley Town Development 5-1.
