WHITEKNIGHTS began their indoor season with an excellent 95-59 victory in the national Egham Trophy against Hounslow, a mixed competition.

In a ladies' friendly, Knights went down 84-66 to Camberley.

Top rink was skipped by Virginia Parnell with Lilly Zhang, Edna Orchard, Pat Hatcher, with the quartet winning by 18 shots.

There was more success for Whiteknights in their mixed friendly against High Wycombe as they cruised to a 154-73 victory.

The top performing rink were skipped by Jean Pound with Mike Holmes, Sue Allum and David Ashley-Down. They triumphed by 28 shots.

  • RIVERMEAD are hosting two open days for people wishing to take up indoor bowls.

The club is based in Richfield Avenue, with the first event this coming Sunday between 2pm-5pm.

Another free session will be held the following Saturday, October 27, between 10am-1pm.

Bowls will be available to interested people with free guidance also given.
