LAST weekend saw three Reading & District Angling Association clubs out on the River Kennet, River Thames and the Kennet & Avon Canal.
T.R.B.L.A.S. were on Beat Five of the Kennet at Berkeley Avenue road bridge.
Following heavy overnight rain, the river was a foot above the level it has been all summer and the amount of debris flowing down the river caused problems.
Mick Stanley found perch to win with 1lb 9ozs ahead of Steve O’Keefe with similar species worth 1lb 4ozs. Pete Godfrey was third with 14ozs.
Tring Anglers saw 11 members turn up at a wet and blustery Mapledurham.
There were no empty nets and roach were the mainstay on waggler and pole. A few sat it out on feeder to try and keep dry.
Steve Purdy won with 10lbs 9ozs ahead of Martin Rodwell with 7lbs 14ozs. Simon Pavey was third with 7lbs 11ozs.
Pangbourne & Whitchurch fished Froxfield where Mick Major won with roach and skimmers worth 8lbs 12ozs ahead of match secretary Dave Dudman with 5lbs 15ozs of similar species and Paul Jill with 4lbs 7ozs.
