SOUTH Berkshire men kick-started their MBBO Regional Two campaign with a convincing 4-1 home win against Banbury 2nds, writes Richard Ashton.

Having lost their opener to Newbury & Thatcham, South Berks bounced back impressively with goals from Jack Baveystock, Ben Dudley, Sam Fox-Harvey (pictured) and Harrison Scott leading them to a convincing victory.

James Perry netted the consolation for Banbury.

South Berkshire travel to Reading 4ths this coming Saturday (10am).

In MBBO Division Two, South Berkshire 2nds turned on the style as they thumped Ashford 2nds 6-1.

Paul Kaplanski and Daniel Ray both bagged braces for the visitors, with the other goals coming from Mike Baylis and Mathias Temmink. David Baker was on target for the home side.

A Richard Wallace double and a goal from Andy Sonden helped South Berkshire 3rds battle to a 3-2 home triumph against Milton Keynes 3rds in Division Three.

Paul Hutchinson and Doug Spencer were the MK goalscorers.

In Division Eight West, South Berkshire 4ths made it two wins from two with a 5-2 success at Newbury & Thatcham 6ths, while South Berkshire Terriers completed a fantastic day for the club by beating Oxford Hawks 7ths 2-0 to make it a clean sweep of victories for the club’s men’s section.

In Premier Division One of the Trysports Three Counties League, South Berkshire ladies had to settle for a 2-2 draw at Newbury & Thatcham, dropping their first points of the season.

South Berkshire will hope to return to winning ways when they host Oxford 2nds on Saturday.

In Division Two, South Berkshire 2nds climbed to fourth in the table following a routine 4-1 victory at Reading Riots.

Holly Bentley and Jess Morgan were both on the scoresheet for South Berkshire 3rds as they secured a 2-1 win at Bicester 2nds in Division Three. Megan Ellison scored from a penalty corner for the hosts.

In Division Four, South Berkshire 4ths went down 3-0 to Scarlet Runners, goals from Elsa Knight, Carolyn Watson and Jenny Seaborn doing the damage for the home side.
