ANDREW Mcrae and substitute Aaron Sheikh got the goals as Wokingham & Emmbrook Reserves inflicted a fourth defeat in four Premier Division games on Reading City U23, writes Richard Ashton.

Marlow United moved top after beating Westwood United 3-2 in a hard-fought encounter, Jordan Gumbs, Nile O’Meally-Newell and James Namyslak getting the goals for the home side.

Second-placed Woodcote Stoke Row were forced to work hard before earning a 3-0 home success against Woodley United Royals.

Player-manager Sam Tucker gave the home side the lead early in the second half as he volleyed home a Ben Rusher assist from 12 yards, although Woodley almost replied immediately when they struck the outside of the post.

WSR doubled their advantage on 70 minutes when Ryan Corbett headed home from six yards out, and Tucker put a gloss on the scoreline late on by jinking past two defenders before rifling a left-footed shot into the back of the net.

In Division One, FC Imaan Lions and Finchampstead played out an entertaining 3-3 draw.

Sam Bernard gave Lions a 36th-minute lead, only for the visitors to level shortly after through James Payne.

Nick Payne put Finch 2-1 up nine minutes into the second half, and a second goal for James doubled their advantage just before the hour mark.

However, Imaan hit back strongly and picked up a point thanks to goals from Kamran Khan and Sabeel Ashgar.

A double from Paidashe Kujinga and a Nathan Horder strike earned Maidenhead Town a 3-1 victory at home to Reading YMCA Rapids, Keiron Mabbut netting a late consolation for the Young Men.

Berks County Reserves began their Division Three campaign with a 4-2 victory at Henley Town, Will Cox, Carl Elcolmbe, Rob Keeley and Mihai Lihat providing the goals for the away side. Tom Heslop netted for Goring United Reserves in their 1-1 draw with Cintra Park Rovers, Pangbourne drew 0-0 with Twyford & Ruscombe and Woodley United A battered Taplow United Reserves 6-1.

Hambleden marked their first game in the league by sending out a warning with a resounding 6-0 triumph against Maidenhead Town A.

Martin Hudson bagged a brace and Tyrese Connor also found the back of the net as Farnham Royal Mavericks kicked off their Division Four campaign with a 3-0 home success against Taplow United Reserves.

Vinoraj Thavarasa and Lee Holland got the goals as Phoenix Old Boys Reserves edged out Henley Town Development 2-1, while Datchet Village smashed AFC Corinthians A 4-1.
