WOKINGHAM & Emmbrook eased into the next round of the Reading Senior Cup after a comfortable 4-0 home win over Henley Town at Lowther Road on Saturday.
Dan Bateman’s Sumas were far too strong for their Hellenic Division One East rivals after scoring twice in each half.
In-form Sam Lawrence-Whiting gave the home side an early lead before James Charlton added a second with a thumping header from a set piece.
Sumas continued to create chances throughout the second period as Henley struggled to live with Bateman’s men.
But the game was up for the visitors when they conceded a third goal, substitute Josh Pearson firing home a superb free-kick.
There was still time left for Sumas skipper Will Day to add gloss to the scoreline by netting his side’s fourth to seal their place in the next round.
Wokingham return to Hellenic Division One East action this Saturday when they host Wallingford Town (2.15pm ko).
Sumas are currently sixth in the table, with Wallingford sitting in fourth.
