DANIEL Ray bagged a brace as South Berkshire won promotion from MBB&O Division One with a thrilling 4-2 victory at Sonning 2nds on Saturday.
The league’s top goalscorer, Sam Fox-Harvey, also found the target as he took his tally for the season to 28, while Robert Hadley was also on the scoresheet.
Simon Briscoe and Joel Forrester netted for the home side, but the result was enough for South Berkshire to cap a memorable season with the runners-up spot.
Fourth-placed South Berkshire 3rds saw their Division Three promotion hopes fade after being held to a 4-4 draw by Gerrards Cross.
Already-relegated South Berkshire 5ths climbed off the bottom of Division Seven with a 9-2 drubbing of Slough Swifts, only their fifth win of the season.
