Fernhill took the lead against the run of play after 35 minutes when a mistake in the Sunningdale defence let in Lewis Burns who finished well from just inside the box.

Sunningdale created some good chances but had to wait until the 75th minute for Lloyd Twyman to level things up.

Both sides could then have gone on to win it. Dave Carpenter was injured trying to connect in the Fernhill area before Kyle Bradley in Sunningdale’s goal was brave as he smothered the ball at the feet of Fernhill’s Charlie Evanson.

Elsewhere, two newly-promoted sides, AFC Wokingham and Morale Madrid also drew as they shared six goals. Lewis Crossman, Rory Angel and Danny Newman were on target for AFC.

There were mixed fortunes for two of the other promoted sides, FC Meta securing an impressive 2-1 victory over Finchampstead thanks to goals from Dave Stone and George Lock.

But Newbold College found the going tough at William Twigg Vets, losing 4-1. Simen Trolsrud was on target for Newbold.

In Division One, Sunningdale & Wentworth Reserves coped well with the step up from from Division Three as they ran out 5-0 victors over Warfield Utd.

Top scorer from last season, Rob Ellis, wasted no time in getting off the mark with a brace. His brother, Scott Ellis, Davey Blackmore and Jose Escorcio notched the other goals for S&W.

Bracknell Celtic, last season’s Division Two champions, also got off to a positive start with a 5-1 victory against Bracknell Falcons.

One of the league’s new boys, AFC Crowthorne, have started well, beating Ashridge Park 3-2. Harrison King scored twice and Sam Webster got the other.

Waverley Rangers got their season off to a spectacular start with a goal directly from the kick off and within the first five seconds. But they couldn’t hold onto the lead however as Winkfield rallied back with goals from Adam Woodley, Ryan Martin and Bernie McDonagh to win 3-1. Parks and Hurricanes drew 2-2.

In Division Two, the number 13 was certainly unlucky for Winnersh Town as Braybrooke ran out 13-2 winners. Liam Kimpton grabbed two of the Braybrooke goals.

Bracknell Cavaliers beat Old Manor 4-3, Woodley Hammers lost 2-1 to Crownwood Dukes, whilst another new side, Sandhurst FFC, beat Hope & Anchor 4-2.

In Division Three, Winnersh Rangers were another side to hit double figures as they ran out 10-2 winners at home to Woodley Hammers Reserves.

New boys Whitegrove FC beat Finchampstead Sunday A 6-0. A Ben Paynter hat trick plus goals from James Hardy, Ben Wallis and Will Hardy did the damage.

Bracknell Manics Reserves got the only goal of the game at home to Parks FC Reserves and Berkshire All Stars beat Winnersh Town Reserves 2-0.
