The Blizzards led 5-4 from the first leg in Cardiff and took to the ice in front of a bumper crowd who turned out in their numbers to support on Saturday night.

The game started off at a fast pace with both sides playing some great hockey, and after eight minutes play the Blizzards scored in their first powerplay.

From a great pass from former Bracknell Bee Adam Hyman, Robert Hitch scored and they doubled their lead when superb teamwork from Hyman and Man of the Match Graham Newell ended with Captain Mike Simmons putting the Blizzards 2-0 up on the night and 7-4 up on aggregate.

The second period started with the Blizzards’ Phil Dobson putting in some hard work in the corner which ended with a great pass to Hyman who finished it off from close range to make it 3-0.

However the Blizzards then found themselves in penalty trouble with Hitch sitting out two minutes for slashing. This allowed Cardiff to score their first of the night from a shot by Michael Newbury.

Four minutes later the Ice Hounds scored from a poor turn over in the neutral zone and a low shot beat netminder Mike Holt.

Bracknell surged back into life and started pressing high up the ice which paid off when Simmons fed Joe Boot who cut in on the back hand and shelved the puck to make it 4-2.

The Blizzards continued to push forward but Cardiff counter attacked and with 20 seconds left in the second period, former GB roller hockey player Johnathan Nash skated over the blue line and struck a low shot in to Holt’s net to make it 4-3 on the night and 9-7 on aggregate. The final period started with end to end action and both netminders made a string of outstanding saves In the last five minutes new Blizzards player Rob Gale stepped up to score his side’s fifth goal following hard work in the corner by Milan Kellner.

The Ice Hounds threw everything they could at the hosts’ defence, but Bracknell stayed strong and sealed their fifth straight title.

The man of the match awards went to Bracknell’s Newell - who put in an outstanding performance - and netminder James Hall for Cardiff.
