A MAN will appear at crown court accused of a number of historic sex offences against children.
Paul John Watts appeared at Reading Magistrates’ Court on January 4 accused of two counts of rape, four counts of indecent assault on a girl under the age of 14, one count of indecent assault on a girl under the age of 16, and one count of gross indecency with a boy under the age of 14.
Watts, 52, of Buttington Road, Gloucestershire, is accused of having carried out all of these incidents in Wokingham, between the years of 1982 and 1994.
He was released on bail, but can have no unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 16.
He will appear at Reading Crown Court on February 5 for his plea, trial and preparation hearing.
Upon hearing the date for the Crown Court appearance, Mr Watt’s defence barrister attempted to have the hearing moved due to a pre-booked holiday.
