A GANG of 15 hooded thugs brutally assaulted a young boy on a few days before Christmas and made off with his Versace belt.

The 14-year-old boy from Wokingham was walking towards Molly Millers industrial estate on Barkham Road at 6.20pm on December 20, when he was approached from behind and pushed to the ground.

The offenders, believed to be between ages 14 and 18 repeatedly punched and kicked him while on the floor, before mugging him of his belt.

The group, who are all believed to be males, continued to assault the boy until a passerby stopped their vehicle to assist him.

The thugs were all wearing dark clothing with hoods pulled up, while some had scarves covering their faces. Some of the offenders were carrying bags.

The victim was fortunate to have not been seriously injured, but sustained cuts and bruises as a result of the incident and was taken to hospital for treatment. He has since been discharged.

Investigating officer PC Amy Edwards of Loddon Valley police station has appealed for any information that may lead to the males' arrest.

She said: "This incident resulted in a 14-year-old boy requiring hospital treatment, and I want to trace those responsible.

"If you saw this incident, or have any information relating to it which you think could help our investigation, please get in touch.

"Anyone with any details should call the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number on 101."
