THE COUNCIL will view plans for a new school complete with nursery and a sports complex at the planning meeting next week.

Wokingham Borough Council have put forward the application, and the nursery will be located at Matthews Green Farm, Wokingham, where 760 dwellings are currently being developed.

Plans include a community, primary and nursery school building complete with associated access.

There will also be playing fields and a hard court play area involved in the plans.

The plans are recommended to be approved, due to the fact that the development has already begun on the rest of the site, with some of the houses in use.

Of the 760 dwellings being developed, there will be 168 affordable homes, a percentage of 22, with the rest of the requirement being paid as a payment to Wokingham Borough Council for them to build the homes elsewhere in the community.

The contract for running the school will be decided at a later date.

The plans will be put before the Wokingham Borough Council planning committee on Wednesday December 13 at 7pm.
