Wimpy fans missing their burger fix can now get them delivered during the lockdown.

The chain, famous for its original quarterpounder cheese burgers, closed the seating areas in all of its restaurants across the country last month, but a number of branches remain open for takeout only.

What have Wimpy said?

A statement on Wimpy's website says: "Nearly half of all Wimpy restaurants across the UK are now offering a delivery service for Wimpy fans craving their favourite dishes at home.

"In partnership with three of the leading food delivery platforms, Wimpy plans to continue to build its network of restaurants who can offer home delivery.

"The home delivery service offers a slightly-reduced menu but all the traditional favourites are there."

How can I make an order?

The burger chain added: "Simply search for your nearest Wimpy on your delivery app to find out if Wimpy currently delivers in your area."

Wimpy have teamed up with Deliveroo, JustEat and UberEats to offer the delivery service.

Those wishing to grab a takeout should call their local branch and check before leaving home.

'Stringent health and hygiene measures'

The restaurant has already introduced strict guidelines on social distancing to protect both customers and staff, together with stringent health and hygiene measures.

Their websites states about 65 per cent of the 67-strong Wimpy estate restaurants now offer home delivery services.
