A NEW health and fitness festival will welcome guests looking to get into shape when it comes to Wellington Country Park later this year.

Refresh Festival will welcome double Olympic gold medallist Dame Kelly Holmes along with a host of other guests.

Personal trainers, instructors and fitness experts will be on hand to greet the 10,000 guests to the two-day event.

The family fitness festival welcomed businesses to a special VIP showcase on Thursday, May 25 so they could help shape the event.

Helen Freeman, director from H-Productions the event company behind Refresh Festival said: "Berkshire and Hampshire is this amazing hot-bed of talented entrepreneurs in the UK’s growing health, fitness, wellbeing and sustainability arena.

"It has been exciting seeing businesses help shape Refresh to be a dynamic way of bringing health and fitness together in a fun and family-friendly day festival experience.

"From Dame Kelly Holmes’ sports day for the children, to interactive workshops and demonstrations with free-runners, award-winning street dancers, martial arts experts, fitness classes, mindfulness meditation chill out areas, yoga classes, guided nature walks and motivational speakers.

"Refresh is shaping up to be a major event in the health and fitness industry and a significant event for local businesses.

"We wanted to create a health and fitness festival that is a truly healthy and fit environment to be in."

Refresh Festival will be held on September 2 and 3 and will be the first family fitness festival for the area.

Technical director of H-Productions, Jay Dodds, said: "Getting the future generation passionate about sport, health and fitness is so important and I hope the thousands of children who take part in Refresh Festival will have the seeds of enthusiasm planted in their active minds.

"Who knows maybe we will inspire tomorrow’s Olympians?

"Most importantly it is going to be a great day out that inspires people to reconnect with the great outdoors and showcases how fitness can truly be play-time for everyone."
