THE PRIDE OF BRACKNELL Awards are fast approaching, as is the deadline to nominate your local heroes for awards.

The awards evening, which will be held at the Royal Military Academy in Sandhurst, brings the great and the good of Bracknell Forest together to celebrate individual and team success over the past year.

Former Reading FC star Ady Williams will be comparing the evening, and figures from the MP of Bracknell to the Mayor will be in attendance.

To nominate, go to www.prideofbracknell.com/ and  click on ‘Nominate Your Local Hero’.

Once there, you will be asked to fill in a form to nominate your hero, simply fill out the information required, and put in a small piece of reasoning behind your nomination.

After that, you will be asked to answer a security question, to ensure that you aren’t a robot.

You can nominate your local hero in any of the categories below, and find out whether or not they win at the awards evening, which will be held on Friday April 27.

The deadline for the awards is March 9.

The award categories are as follows:

  • The John Nike Pride of Bracknell Forest Young Person’s Award
  • The John Nike Pride of Bracknell Forest Adult Award
  • School of the Year
  • Teacher of the Year
  • Business of the Year
  • Health and Sport - Young Person’s Award
  • Health and Sport - Adult Award
  • Charity of the Year
  • Volunteer of the Year
  • Team of the Year
  • Special Award

Bracknell News editor Samantha Harman said: “This is a chance to acknowledge those every day heroes – the people who make Bracknell Forest a great place to live and work.

“So often it is difficult to praise yourself and so by nominating someone, you’ll help them recognise just how fantastic their achievement has been.

“We look forward to meeting all the winners on awards night.”
