ONE of Bracknell’s most-loved visitor attractions has been given the seal of approval with a national award.

The Look Out Discovery Centre, in Nine Mile Ride, has scooped a VisitEngland ‘Welcome’ accolade in recognition of the overall experience guests receive when they visit the centre.

Judging attractions on a range of criteria including customer service, food and drink and storytelling, 86 sites across the country were awarded accolades in the Welcome, Hidden Gem, Best Told Story, and Quality Food and Drink categories. 

A Gold accolade recognised those all-round top-scoring attractions.

Iain McCracken, executive member for Culture, Resources and Public Protection at Bracknell Forest Council said “We’re delighted that The Look Out Discovery Centre has been recognised as a winner in the welcome category of the VisitEngland Visitor Attraction Accolade Awards, as it provides a fantastic overall visitor experience, with something for all the family.

 “Well done to staff and all involved for their day-to-day hard work, placing the Look Out Discovery Centre as a top family attraction in the heart of Berkshire.”

VisitEngland director Andrew Stokes said: “These attractions offer a warm welcome, unique story-telling, high quality food and drink and unparalleled customer service and rightly deserve these accolades. They provide visitors with amazing experiences and create reasons to travel the the country, increasing the economic benefits of tourism.”
