A MUSICAL paying tribute to the late David Bowie will come to South Hill Park this month.

From Ibiza to the Norfolk Broads, a musical written by Adrian Berry, had a highly acclaimed run at the famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2017, and now comes to Bracknell.

The two-night stint is part of a UK tour for the show, which has now played more than 100 times.

The premise of the show is based around a young man named Martin, who struggles with mental health issues. He receives an unexpected gift for his 18th birthday, and travels to London following his obsession with David Bowie.

He performs on the stage where Ziggy Stardust was born, finds himself in Bowie’s bedroom, and is led on a treasure trail to discover the truth about himself and his family.

The soundtrack features hits from Bowie’s career, as well as nods to his heroes and influences.

Director and writer Adrian Berry said: “When we started thinking about the show originally in 2015 our ambitions were to maybe do a little run in a London fringe theatre, 50 seats or so.

“Now over 100 performances later, to be playing such beautiful and big houses at some of the most prestigious venues in the country is more than we ever dreamt of.

“The response has been unexpected but hugely welcome. It’s still very recently that David passed away, so we hope we are serving his legacy in the best possible way.”

The show will be performed at South Hill Park on January 27 - 28, and for tickets, visit www.fromibiza.net/tour and the South Hill Park box office.
