THE BRACKNELL MP has responded to reports that he could be set to take over as health secretary.
An article in The Express on Monday claims that Dr Phillip Lee could be promoted as part of a cabinet shake-up.
The report suggests that Jeremy Hunt will be made deputy Prime Minister, taking over from Damian Green, following his sacking.
The Bracknell MP is still a part-time GP, having been elected in 2010, and now The Express believes he is in line for a Cabinet seat.
Dr Lee said: “I do not feel it would be appropriate to respond to a speculative story.
"It is up to the Prime Minister to decide who she puts in her Cabinet. As ever, I am here to serve.”
