CHRISTMAS has not come early for motorists who face ten days of disruption over the festive period.
Overnight on December 4 resurfacing work will begin along London Road, between Coppid Beech roundabout and Murrell Hill Lane.
The work will be carried out between the hours of 8pm until 6am in a bid to minimise disruption and will continue until December 14.
Gary Hurley, project manager for Bellway Homes, said: “We will endeavour to keep access to Merydene Court and Wentworth Place open however, we anticipate on the evening of December 6, we will be removing the existing tarmac course to London Road and re-surfacing the area, this will inevitably cause some delays if residents wish to enter or exit between 8pm and 6.00am.
“We will have lane closures in place to London Road and employ the use of traffic marshals to aid those entering or exiting the road.
“Please be assured we will do our upmost to keep noise and disruption to a minimum.”
Bellway Homes is building 377 new properties at Amen Corner, comprising of one and two-bedroom apartments, and two, three, four and five-bedroom homes.
A new primary school will create 210 new school places for children from the Binfield area, including a sports field and hard playground area.
It is set to open in September 2019.
