Holme Grange School has been shortlisted for an award recognising its innovative approach to education.

The school is in the running for the 2026 Talk Education Awards for Innovation in Education, in the Entrepreneurship & Business category.

Pippa Adams, headteacher at Holme Grange, said: "Innovation is not about introducing something new simply for the sake of it; it is about ensuring that our curriculum evolves to meet the needs of the young people we are educating today as part of our vision to prepare pupils for the opportunities and challenges of the 21st century.

"To have that approach recognised by Talk Education is a tremendous achievement and one of which our whole school community can be very proud.”

The school’s approach includes practical programmes such as KidsMBA Young Business Studies, and Dragon's Den and Shark Tank-style enterprise challenges.

In Business Studies, Year 10 pupils take part in a Stocks & Shares Challenge, managing a virtual investment portfolio and analysing market trends to support real-world learning.

The awards celebrate schools developing innovative approaches to education.
