Thames Valley Police officers from across Reading, Wokingham and Bracknell area came together outside Windsor Castle as XR protestors set up camp for a three day series of demonstrations.
Climate Activists from Extinction Rebellion set up their tents and stages in Windsor’s Home Park on Friday morning ahead of a weekend of activities for the protesters.
Despite XR reiterating that they had no plans to storm the Royal residence, the town was buzzing with officers across all three days.
A pink Post Box was delivered and sat outside the gates to the castle in the hope that the King would read letters from the protesters. Officers, both on foot and on horseback patrolled the area outside both entrances of Windsor Castle.
The banners held by the protesters read signs such as, 'Upgrade democracy', 'This is a call for revolution the earth is under threat', and 'revolution is a strong word and I use it deliberately'.
