Pupils across the town have done immensely well after today, GSCE Results Day 2024, it was revealed that they achieved an exceptional number of grades.
Students at Bohunt Wokingham, part of the high achieving Bohunt Education Trust (BET), are celebrating today after receiving their best ever GCSE results, enabling them to embark on the next stage of their education journey.
As a school we are celebrating a game-changing set of results. 85% of students have achieved a grade 4 or above in English and Maths, whilst almost 70% achieved grade 5 or above in both of these subjects. Additionally, of all the grades achieved, more than 1 in 3 were awarded at grade 7 to 9.
Emmbrook School said: "We are incredibly proud of the fantastic results achieved by our Year 11 students today.
"Their hard work and dedication have shone through as GCSE results are up across the board, with students improving, on average, by half a GCSE grade in every subject compared to last year."
Core subject performance rose dramatically with English, Maths, and Science all seeing large increases in attainment.
Compared to the 2023 results, students achieving passes in English and Maths rose 15% for the ‘standard’ pass (4+) and nearly 10% for the ‘strong’ pass (5+), with similar increases in the Science pass rates.
Railton Blyth, Acting Headteacher of St Crispins School shared:
"Pride does not do justice to how we feel today for our Year 11 community who have achieved exceptional results. This is a benchmark in the journey of life for our young people and nothing can compare to days like today where together we celebrate years of dedicated hard work and resilience from our students, parents/carers, teachers and support staff, exemplifying the proverb that it ‘takes a whole village to raise a child’. It is wonderful seeing such joy and happiness amongst our families.
"I wish there was room to be able to list the results of all of our students, proud as we are, but to provide a snapshot a number of students achieved all grades 9-7 including Max Dowding who achieved ten grade 9s, Max Stroud nine grade 9s, Gordie Lam and Finn Yarrow seven, Jacob Wyeth six, Mackenzie Cook, Annabel Brittain and Jessica Harris five grade 9s."
