Pupils across the town have done immensely well after today, GSCE Results Day 2024, it was revealed that they achieved an exceptional number of grades.

Once again Year 11 students at Ranelagh School are celebrating fantastic GCSE results today.  Just under a third of all grades were awarded at grade 7 or higher; 72% of all grades were awarded at grade 5 or higher. 

A staggering 86.3% of grades were awarded at grade 4 or above.  These grades reflect the superb effort and achievements of our young people.

This year, 91% of Year 11 students achieved a grade 4 or better in both English and Mathematics.  An impressive 24% of students achieved a grade 7 or higher in both English and Mathematics. 

Headteacher, Timothy Griffith, said, “I wish to pass on my congratulations to all of our Year 11 students on their GCSE results.  They reflect the hard work and dedication of students and staff and of course the continued support from families which cannot be underestimated.  I wish all our Year 11 students every success for the wonderful future ahead of you.”

A further congratulations to all the Year 11 students at Edgbarrow School who received their GCSE and vocational results today.

The students have shown huge resilience and dedication through a challenging period and we are delighted that these grades will help them to take their next steps in education. 81% of students achieved a 4+ in both English and Maths, with 83% of all grades at 4+.

There are many individual success stories, including Kelvin Brown, Izzy Flower, and Isobelle Hennessey, who achieved all grades 8 or 9. Our thanks go to the staff and families for providing fantastic support to a brilliant year group.

GCSE students have a great deal to celebrate at Brakenhale today with attainment increasing significantly.  59% of students achieved a Grade 4+ in English and maths and 43% achieved a Grade 5+ in English and maths. 69% of students achieved a Grade 4+ in English and 65% in Maths.

Languages students achieved particularly impressive results, significantly above national average.
