A new library is set to open in two weeks after plans to move to a historical landmark in Twyford.
The library’s current location will close its doors before the move to the former Old Polehampton Boys School which has been refurbished to provide new library facilities for the local community.
Twyford Parish Council has announced that prior to the opening on Thursday, June 13, the current library will permanently close on Saturday, June 1 at 12:30pm.
This will allow time for books and equipment to be moved to the new premises.
The new library has taken another step forward to completion. New furniture and bookshelves have been installed in the building within the various areas of the library.
The move has allowed the council to create a beautiful new library space that benefits from features including improved spaces with high ceilings and large windows letting in natural light.
The new library also includes a specially designed children’s area, and a new extension that offers an accessible entrance and additional space.
During the move to the new premises, people will still be able to access services at other libraries across the borough and online.
