TRIBUTES have been left following the death of a man in the Bradford district.

Emergency services, including the air ambulance, rushed to the Bingley Bypass at 10.45am on Sunday to a report of a man falling from a bridge.

West Yorkshire Police confirmed on Monday that a man in his 60s died at the scene and they are not treating his death as suspicious.

Floods of tributes, including flowers, have been left for the man, who was been named locally as Alan.

One of the notes was from Alan’s wife, Carole.

It said: “You was the best husband I could ever have wished for.

“I am devastated, you was my world. Will miss you everyday.”

There was also a tribute from Lydia who said Alan was an “amazing step-dad”.

It read: “I am so sorry we couldn’t help you.

“Thank you for being there for the last 15 years.

“You have been an amazing step-dad.”

Another note, signed by Sara, Steve, and Matty – who worked with Alan - described him as a “one of a kind gentleman”.

It said: “As a one of a kind gentlemen with the type of dry sense of humour to help us get through the working day you’ll be forever missed.

“We’ll carry you in our thoughts as our colleague, and our friend. Rest easy.”

The tribute also had some kind words for Alan’s wife.

It said: “We’re so sorry for the immense loss of Alan’s passing.

“We send all our love and want you to know that we’re thinking of you during this difficult time.”

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said a file is set to be prepared for the coroner.

Bingley Bypass was closed until 2.10pm on Sunday and footage seen by the T&A showed the air ambulance positioned near the entry slip road onto the northbound carriageway of Bingley Bypass that is close to Aldi.

The dual carriageway connects Bradford and Keighley via Shipley and Bingley.
