Ascot Racecourse has paid tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II on what would have been her 98th birthday.

Queen Elizabeth II, had a passion for horseracing with a strong connection with Ascot Racecourse over the years.

During her time as Queen, she attended Royal Ascot almost every year of her reign and cheered on her horses that were entered into the different stakes at the weeklong event.

On April 21, Ascot Racecourse posted a video clip as she celebrated the win of her racehorse, Estimate, in the Gold Cup stakes at Royal Ascot.

The post on X said: “Today, in honour of what would have been Queen Elizabeth II’s birthday, we look back with delight on Estimate’s captivating Gold Cup win at #RoyalAscot. Pure jubilation."

Estimate's victory was the first time the Gold Cup had been won by the reigning monarch.
