Motorists are being warned of rolling traffic lights along the Nine Mile Ride which are set to last for four months.

Gas company SGN have recently finished work on New Wokingham Road and are preparing to begin work on the B3430 Nine Mile Ride in Wokingham for 11 weeks.

SGN have said: "Following multiple leaks in our gas network, we will be replacing the old metal gas pipes with new plastic pipes in Nine Mile Ride and at the junction of Old Wokingham Road and Nine Mile Ride.

"This work needs to be started urgently to enable us to continue to provide a safe and reliable gas supply and to minimise the risk of further leaks in the area."

Works began in December 2023 and saw the old pipe in Old Wokingham Road at its junction with Nine Mile Ride replaced.

The second phase will see work move from the Nine Mile Ride junction with New Wokingham Road to the railway bridge.

Starting on Wednesday, April 10, SGN will be working on the Nine Mile Ride until August 30.

During this time phased multi-way traffic lights will be in use.
