Two 42-year-old men have been arrested after £250,000 of drugs were recovered in a county lines drug raid.

This comes as Thames Valley Police joined the national intensification week to tackle County Drugs Lines alongside all UK Police Forces.

On March 6, the Bracknell Neighbourhood team, Problem Solving Team, and Tasking Team officers executed a warrant at an address on Market Street, Bracknell.

During the [Section 23 Misuse of Drugs Act] warrant, a large quantity of drugs and cash was recovered.

Following the arrest, the two men were charged with a total of seven offences, and have been remanded in custody.

A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police in Bracknell said: “County lines is the name given to drug dealing where organised criminal groups (OCGs) use phone lines to move and supply drugs, usually from cities into smaller towns and rural areas.

“They exploit vulnerable people, including children and those with mental health or addiction issues, by recruiting them to distribute the drugs. This is often referred to as ‘drug running’. Criminals may also use a vulnerable person’s home as their base of operations. This is known as ‘cuckooing’.

“We work hard to protect our community from this exploitation.”

The national intensification week was set up to disrupt, deter, and prosecute drug lines causing harm to communities.
