Signs for a new One Stop convenience store have been put up at a vacant unit in The Lexicon.

The shop looks set to open at 26B High Street, which had been vacant and was previously occupied by a Peacocks clothing store. One Stop has not responded to questions, including on when the shop will open.

The plans were first revealed after One Stop applied to Bracknell Forest Council (BFC) to put the signs and adverts up on February 1. The council has not yet granted permission, but the signs were put up some time between Monday, February 19, and Wednesday, February 21.

Bracknell Forest Council’s planning department said it wouldn’t take enforcement action while an application is still being considered unless ‘significant harm is being caused'.

Max Baker, assistant director, planning at BFC said: “The application is pending determination and the council would not normally take enforcement action while an application Is still under consideration unless significant harm is being caused.”

Separate plans to turn storage space above 26 High Street into seven flats were approved in November last year. In total, the plans are for four one-bed flats, two two-bed flats and one three-bed flats.

Plans also include eight parking spaces for residents, 12 for shop staff, and cycle parking, at the back of the building.
