Bracknell Forest Council has announced it will be hosting its second Pride event following last year's success.

Set to be held on Saturday, July 20, Pride will be taking place at The Lexicon.

The celebration will see people coming together to celebrate in different locations throughout the summer months, with the month of June marking how far LGBTQ+ rights have come and what more needs to change.

Last year Bracknell Forest Council and The Lexicon held its first Pride event in June, with hundreds turning out for the family-friendly event.

It is believed this year will see artists take the stage, with pop-up stalls and food on offer throughout the day.

People can expect bright colours, creative costumes and flags as groups move through the town.

Cllr Helen Purnell, executive member for environment and community cohesion at Bracknell Forest Council said: “Last year’s Pride was a roaring success, and we can’t wait for it to return this year on July 20.

"We are working with members of the LGBT+ community to help co-produce this event as it grows.

"As such, we’re looking for people to join our community steering group – the first meeting will take place on Tuesday, February 6 at 6pm.”
