The government is consistently releasing updates on areas of Berkshire that are at risk of flooding, many of which are now under the ‘severe’ alert.

Here is the latest update on areas of Berkshire that could be flooded within the next day:

River Kennet from Thatcham down to Reading

Property flooding is expected. A flood warning is in force for the Theale and Burghfield area. River levels are rising on the lower River Kennet following recent rainfall.

Therefore, flooding of low-lying land, roads and property is expected to continue today, especially in the Theale area.

This morning is forecast to be mainly dry, followed by further showers this evening and overnight which have the potential to be heavy at times.

River levels will remain high over the next few days and will remain sensitive to further rainfall. We are monitoring the situation.

Avoid using low-lying footpaths near local watercourses and be aware of flood water remaining on the floodplain. 

River Enborne and Foudry Brook

Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels have risen on the River Enborne and Foudry Brook in response to persistent rainfall.

Flooding of low-lying land and roads is therefore expected today January 5 especially in the Brimpton area.

This morning is forecast to be mainly dry, followed by further showers this evening and overnight which have the potential to be heavy at times.

We are monitoring the situation. Avoid using low-lying footpaths near local watercourses.

River Pang from East Ilsley to Pangbourne and Sulham Brook

River levels have risen on the River Pang and the Sulham Brook in response to persistent heavy rainfall, but are now starting to fall in the upstream reaches of the Pang.

Flooding of low-lying land and roads is expected today, especially in the Bucklebury, Tidmarsh and Sulham areas.

Properties closest to the River Kennet at the Burghfield, Southcote, Coley and Holybrook areas

Property flooding is expected. River levels are rising on the River Kennet following recent heavy rainfall. Therefore, flooding of property and roads is expected today.

Flooding may affect properties closest to the river, particularly in the Burghfield area.

River Thames at Purley Village

Property flooding is expected. River levels are high and slowly rising on the River Thames as a result of recent heavy rainfall.

Flooding of low lying land, roads, and property is expected to continue today especially in the River Gardens, Chestnut Grove and Wintringham areas of Purley.

River Thames from Pangbourne to Purley

Property flooding is expected. A flood warning is in force for the River Thames at Purley. River levels are high and rising slowly on the River Thames as a result of recent rainfall.

River Thames from Mapledurham to Sonning

Property flooding is not currently expected, although levels may reach flood warning in the afternoon of January 6.

River Loddon and River Blackwater at Swallowfield

Property flooding is expected. River levels are rising on the River Loddon and River Blackwater as a result of heavy rainfall.

Therefore, flooding of low lying land and roads is expected especially in the Swallowfield area.

River Loddon at Twyford, Charvil and Wargrave

Property flooding is expected. River levels are rising on the River Loddon as a result of heavy rainfall.

Therefore, flooding of low lying land and roads is expected overnight tonight especially in the Twyford, Charvil and Wargrave areas.

Further light rainfall is forecast today, with a drier forecast from tomorrow onwards.

River Thames for Shiplake, Lower Shiplake and Wargrave

Property flooding is expected. River levels are forecast to rise on the River Thames as a result of heavy rainfall.

Therefore, flooding of low lying land and roads is expected today especially in the Shiplake, ​Lower Shiplake and Wargrave areas.
