Fallen trees are causing train delays in Berkshire as Storm Pia hits the area.

Great Western Railway announced at 2:52pm that due to a tree blocking the railway at Crowthorne, the line is blocked.

The spokesperson added: "Train services between Gatwick Airport and Reading via Redhill and Guildford may be cancelled or delayed. Disruption is expected until 4:30pm."

National Rail added: "Although a tree is still blocking the line between Wokingham and Crowthorne, South Western Railway trains are now able to pass through Wokingham.

"While they return to normal service, please be aware that trains may still be delayed, revised or cancelled."

Further issues have been reported near Ascot, where a fallen tree has disrupted services since 12:49pm.

Specialist teams are currently working to clear the tree from the track.

National Rail added: "Due to a tree blocking the railway between Ascot and Bagshot the line towards Ascot is blocked.

"Train services running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until 5pm."
