A local business owner has said that it was ‘so exciting’ after her appearance on the antique roadshow left her star-struck.

The Country Mouse, located at the Moss End Garden Village in Warfield is a unique antique shop founded in 2010 by Karen Lynch.

Its unique appearance has captivated visitors and attracted many celebs and A-Listers who have appeared on the BBC's Celebrity Antique Road Trip.

The business, which sits inside a charming country barn is filled with antiques from over 21 sole antique traders, all with a vested interest in the business.

Karen said: “Apart from the garden centre and the garden supply store we are the oldest tenants here.

“When the business that was in here was leaving we thought it would be a great place to set up an antique centre. The way the barn is, it’s easy to divide up into separate areas. We set out to find about 20 independent antique traders and most of them are still with us.

“There aren’t many of these shops left where collectors can come in and see stuff that only a few people have. The traders are often experts in their field.

"If someone is looking for a mid-century modern piece they know there will be someone here who is an expert on that.”

Celebs that have frequented the store include Emeli Sande and Naughty Boy who visited the shop in an episode of the ‘Celebrity Antique Road Trip’.

Other celebrity visitors include Linford Christie and astrologer Russell Grant.

Karen added: “It’s quite exciting because we’ve been on the Antique Road Show several times on the normal edition and the celebrity edition.

“We’ve had some great celebs and it’s been fantastic. My personal favorite celeb is Linford Christie, he was just charming.

“We’ve tried really hard to not have a lot of people that sell the same thing. For example, we have someone who is an expert in toys, another who knows books and we’ve got someone who does hugely popular vinyl records.”

The two-story building is a treasure trove of hidden gems situated within a village of other independent businesses that call Moss End Garden Village their home.

The barn also features a workshop which is used for Karen's upcycling business.
