The following cases were heard at Reading or Slough Magistrates’ Courts.

OSCAR DAY, 24, of Windlesham Road, Chobham, Woking, pleaded guilty to drink driving with 48 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath on May 6 this year in Bracknell. He was disqualified from driving for 14 months, reduced by 14 weeks, and fined £500. There were also court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £200.

CHARLES WARD, 39, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to trespassing into Reading Buses’ building in Great Knollys Street, Reading on May 6 this year to steal vehicle batteries. He was given a period of conditional discharge for 36 months. There were court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £22.

DARREN GILES, 42, of Caversham Road, Salisbury, indicated guilty to committing fraud by attempting to use a Monzo bank card in the name of someone else on July 19 last year in Reading as well as one count of handling stolen goods – the card. He was given a community order to complete 80 hours of unpaid work. There was no order for costs but a victim surcharge of £114.

REFKI HASANAJ, 41, of Meadfield Road, Slough, pleaded guilty to the possession of a knife in St Marys Road, Langley on December 2 last year. He was given a community order to complete 120 hours of unpaid work and five days of rehabilitation activity. There were also court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £154.

DOUGLAS HALBERT, 63, of Grovelands Road, Reading, pleaded guilty to intending to cause harassment, alarm or distress by using threatening, abusive, or insulting words or behaviour causing another person harassment, alarm or distress in Reading on October 31 last year. He was fined £!50 and ordered to pay £40 in compensation. There was no other order for costs.

HARLEY DEACON-TURNER, 21, of Mill Lane, Tidmarsh, Reading, indicated guilty to assaulting a police officer on March 7 this year in Tilehurst Road, Reading. He was ordered to pay £40 in compensation and was fined £300. There were court costs of £85 but no victim surcharge.

MARCELINO ROSARIO, 47, of Cedar Road, Reading, pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified on London Road, Bracknell on March 25 this year in Bracknell as well as driving without third-party insurance. He was fined £184. There were also court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £74.

STEPHEN EMMERSON, 36, of Newlands Place, Bracknell, was found guilty of assaulting a police constable on March 30 this year in Bracknell as well as possession of a Class A drug. He was given a jail sentence of 12 weeks, suspended for 18 months. He will also need to complete 120 hours of unpaid work and pay £150 in compensation. There was a forfeiture and destruction order for the drugs and court costs of £85.

OWEN DUTTON, 24, of Marten Place, Tilehurst, Reading, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen of blood for testing on May 7 this year. He was given a community order to complete 80 hours of unpaid work and was disqualified from driving for 20 months. He was also fined £307 with court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £114.
