The ticket office at Bracknell Forest Station has closed due to flooding within the building.

National Rail reported yesterday (21/11) that the station’s main office was forced to close until further notice.

The alert online from the rail operator said: “Alternative ticket offices are located at Ascot, Martins Heron and Wokingham. Tickets can still be purchased at TVM's at the station.”

A South Western Railway spokesperson said: “South Western Railway is sorry that the ticket office at Bracknell station is currently closed due to flooding caused by a leak from the building above the station.

“We are working with Network Rail and the tenant of the building to reopen the ticket office as quickly as possible. In the meantime, ticket office colleagues are on hand to assist customers to purchase tickets from the ticket vending machines in the station.

News of the closure has frustrated locals who commute from Bracknell to other locations across Berkshire and beyond.

One resident who travels from Bracknell alerted other people on social media of the difficulties when traveling.

Although the ticket vending machines are still available on the platform, residents worry about the possibility that the ticket machines in Bracknell may fail.

This local resident said that if the ticket vending machine were to fail there may not be someone on the platform to help.

With the ticket office closed there is also worry that people will have no shelter from the elements when waiting for the train.

The Bracknell News has contacted National Rail for more information about the closed ticket office and the flooding.
